Vidhyadeep Institute of Engineering and Technology (VIEAT), under the aegis of Vidhyadeep University, successfully organized a two-week Refresher Course (RC-O-03) on “Research Paper Writing Excellence: From Concept to Q1 Journal Publication†from 10th February 2026 to 24th February 2026. The programme was conducted in academic collaboration with UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), Central University of Gujarat.
This online refresher course was designed to enhance the research capabilities of faculty members, scholars, and academic professionals by providing structured guidance on high-quality research publication practices. The sessions were conducted daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the subject with interactive discussions and practical insights.
The programme focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of:
• Identifying impactful research problems and developing clear research objectives
• Structuring research papers as per international standards
• Literature review techniques using reputed databases
• Research methodology selection and data analysis approaches
• Academic writing clarity, referencing styles, and citation management
• Understanding journal indexing systems, impact factors, and Q1 journal criteria
• Avoiding plagiarism and ensuring research ethics compliance
• Navigating peer-review processes and responding to reviewers’ comments
The inaugural session was graced by eminent academicians and institutional leaders, highlighting the importance of research excellence in higher education. Expert speakers and resource persons shared practical strategies for publishing in Scopus and Web of Science indexed journals, enabling participants to bridge the gap between research concepts and successful publication outcomes.
The course also emphasized hands-on learning, case-based discussions, and real-time examples to help participants refine their manuscripts and align them with the expectations of reputed journals. The collaborative effort between VIEAT and UGC-MMTTC, Central University of Gujarat, reflects a shared commitment to academic quality enhancement and faculty development.
