Marathon - 2026 : “Run for Health”

Marathon Event Organized by Vidhyadeep University and Kim Police Station

On Monday, 16 February 2026, a 6-kilometer marathon was successfully organized starting at 7:30 a.m. as a joint initiative of Vidhyadeep University and Kim Police Station. The event was conducted with the objective of promoting physical fitness, discipline, and community engagement among youth. It received an overwhelming response and witnessed enthusiastic participation from athletes and students representing 15 different states across India.

A total of approximately 1,500 participants, including university students, professional sportspersons, and local athletes, actively took part in the marathon. The scale of participation reflected strong coordination between the organizing institutions and highlighted the growing awareness regarding health and fitness among young individuals.

The marathon route covered a distance of 6 kilometers. It commenced from Muld Chowkdi in Kim and concluded at the campus of Vidhyadeep University. Proper arrangements were made to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the event. Security personnel from Kim Police Station were deployed along the route to manage traffic and maintain order. Medical support teams and volunteers were also stationed at key points to provide immediate assistance if required.

The marathon was formally flagged off in the presence of Police Inspector Shri P.T. Kotadiya of Kim Police Station. The ceremony was also attended by the Vice President of Vidhyadeep University, Dr. Hirenbhai Patel, along with the University Registrar, Provost, and Executive Registrar. Their presence added significance to the event and demonstrated institutional support for initiatives promoting health and well-being.

During the inaugural address, the Vice President emphasized the importance of maintaining physical fitness in daily life. Encouraging participants, he highlighted the slogan “Run for Health” under the national Fit India campaign. The message focused on adopting a disciplined lifestyle, engaging in regular physical activity, and building a healthier generation capable of contributing positively to society.

The marathon concluded successfully at the university campus, where participants were welcomed and acknowledged for their spirited participation. The event not only strengthened collaboration between educational and law enforcement institutions but also fostered unity, sportsmanship, and a sense of social responsibility among the youth.

Overall, the marathon proved to be a well-organized and impactful initiative that effectively promoted the values of health, fitness, and collective participation.
