Vidhyadeep Law College successfully organized a Moot Court Competition on 28 January 2026 at 10:30 a.m. with the objective of enhancing students’ practical legal skills and providing experiential learning beyond traditional classroom teaching. The event aimed to familiarize students with court procedures, advocacy techniques, legal drafting, research methodology, and professional courtroom conduct, thereby preparing them for future legal practice.
The programme commenced with a brief inaugural session in which the Principal and faculty members emphasized the importance of moot court exercises in shaping competent and confident legal professionals. They highlighted that such practical activities bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world legal application. Students from different semesters enthusiastically participated in the competition by forming teams representing the roles of petitioner, respondent, and the bench. A hypothetical legal problem had been shared in advance, and participants were required to prepare written memorials and present oral arguments before a panel of judges.
The competition reflected a high level of preparation, research, and dedication from the students. Each team presented structured and persuasive arguments supported by relevant statutory provisions, judicial precedents, and logical interpretation of facts. The judges evaluated participants on various parameters, including clarity of thought, legal reasoning, advocacy skills, confidence, courtroom etiquette, and effective time management. The interactive questioning by the judges further encouraged critical thinking and tested the depth of understanding of the students.
Faculty members coordinated the event efficiently and ensured the smooth conduct of proceedings. The moot court setting closely resembled an actual courtroom environment, providing participants with valuable exposure to real-life litigation practices and professional responsibilities. The programme concluded with a valedictory session during which the judges shared constructive feedback and practical suggestions for improvement. Certificates were distributed to all participants and winners in recognition of their efforts.
Overall, the Moot Court Competition proved to be a meaningful and enriching learning experience. It significantly strengthened students’ confidence, communication skills, analytical abilities, and professional competence, reflecting the institution’s commitment to holistic legal education and the overall development of future legal professionals.
