A Tree Plantation activity was organized on 23 September 2025 at Umrachhi Gam near Sabarmati Ashram. The event was conducted by Vidhyadeep Institute of Computer and Information Technology under the National Service Scheme (NSS). The main purpose of this program was to promote environmental awareness among students and encourage them to contribute to the protection and preservation of nature.
The program began with a short introduction about the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance. Faculty members explained how trees play a vital role in improving air quality, providing oxygen, conserving biodiversity, and reducing environmental pollution. They also highlighted the need for increasing green cover to create a healthier and more sustainable environment for future generations.
During the activity, NSS volunteers and students actively participated in planting various types of saplings in the surrounding area of Umrachhi village. Students worked together in groups to dig pits, plant the saplings, and water them properly.
