Objective of the Event
The Youth Parliament was organised with the objective of sensitising law students about contemporary legal and constitutional issues, enhancing their understanding of legislative processes, and developing skills such as critical thinking, public speaking, debate, and democratic participation.
Details of the Event
Vidhyadeep Law College successfully organised a Youth Parliament on 02.12.2025, focusing on the topic Ashant Dhara / Disturbed Areas Act. The event witnessed active participation from approximately 50 students of First Year, Second Year, and Third Year LL.B.
The programme was conducted in a simulated parliamentary format where students assumed the roles of Members of Parliament, Ministers, and Opposition leaders. Participants presented arguments both in favour of and against the implementation and impact of the Disturbed Areas Act, highlighting its constitutional validity, social implications, human rights concerns, and role in maintaining public order.
The discussions reflected a balanced and critical analysis of the law, encouraging students to examine the issue from legal, social, and ethical perspectives. Faculty members guided the proceedings and ensured constructive debate while maintaining parliamentary decorum.
